There are approximately 77.5 million dogs in the United States, according to the American Pet Products Manufacturing Association. Because of the number of dogs in the US, there are a lot of dog bites that occur. About 2% of the US population suffers a dog bite in any given year and on average, people will suffer a dog bite at least once in their lifetime.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recently released their 2014 recall activity report. In summary, two of the largest auto recalls in history took place in 2014.
Those two recalls both involved faulty airbags.
The first was General Motors’ recall of 5.88 million vehicles in the United States for ignition switches that can disable airbags.
The second recall was for Honda, which involved 5.39 million vehicles for defective airbags produced by Takata.
